Bamboo weaving with an inheritor
Two to three hours, real moso strips, and a basket, fan or lampshade you made yourself. The single highest-rated thing we sell, in any language.
Craft, food, culture and adrenaline — the experiences our guests rate highest, with what each one actually costs and how long it really takes.
Short answer: if you do one, do the bamboo-weaving workshop — two hours, ¥120–260, and you take home something you made yourself. For culture, seal carving in Zhangwu (two hours, your name in stone). For adrenaline, the cliff walkway at Yunshang Grassland or gorge rafting in summer. Everything here is bookable through us with a fixed price.

Two to three hours, real moso strips, and a basket, fan or lampshade you made yourself. The single highest-rated thing we sell, in any language.

Sticky rice, mushroom and cured pork steamed inside a green bamboo node, split open at the table. The coffee version is a novelty; the rice version is the meal.

An hour in the forest with a hoe and a farmer who knows which shoot is ready. You eat what you dig that night. Genuinely muddy, genuinely memorable.

The indoor, rain-proof craft option: paint a bamboo-frame lantern or carve a name into a bamboo slip. Good for mixed-age groups where half the party does not want a knife.

A teacher, a platform, and 07:00 light coming through the culms sideways. Ninety minutes, mats provided, no experience needed.

Yunshang Grassland's glass-edged walkway hangs over the cloud line, with swings and zip lines beside it. Included with the scenic ticket or sold as add-ons — check what is running on the day, wind closes them.

Three operators run gorge rafting nearby: Xianlongxia, Zhebei Grand Canyon and Shenxi. Two hours, helmets and life jackets provided, and you will be soaked. Not for children under about 1.2 m.

The gentle version: a raftsman poles you down a slow stream between bamboo banks. Zero adrenaline, maximum atmosphere, safe with grandparents and toddlers.

Pick pale leaves on the Xilong terraces, then learn why Anji white tea is technically a green tea. Tasting rooms are free; the picking experience is ¥80–150.

A two-hour introduction in Zhangwu village, the home of Wu Changshuo: brush, ink, and a stone seal you carve with your own name in it. Surprisingly absorbing for teenagers.
All of them are small studios with real makers, not demonstration theatres.
Some crafts need adult hands, some are ideal for children from six. We match the workshop to the group.
Two days' notice is usually enough; a week in peak season or for English instruction.

Peak-season slots in the bamboo studios go first. Send us dates and ages and we will hold the space.
