First time in Anji: the 3-day plan that works for every season

Published 2026-10-30 · 12:00 China time·Anji Travel editorial

After a year of hosting guests from Manila, Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City, one pattern holds: two nights minimum, three is perfect, and the order of sights matters more than the sights themselves.

Day 1 — arrive and breathe. Reach your homestay by early afternoon, walk the bamboo boardwalk at China Bamboo Sea or simply sit on the terrace. First days in Anji should lower your heart rate, not test it.

Day 2 — the mountain. Full day at Yunshang Grassland (entry ¥220 + cable car ¥140): cliff park first thing, meadow at midday, lantern town before the last cable car down. Pack a light jacket even in July; the top runs 5–8°C cooler than the valley.

Day 3 — the slow close. Morning at Deep Blue Plan or the tea terraces, bamboo weaving workshop before lunch, home by evening. This is the day guests photograph least and remember most.

Practical notes for first-timers: buy an eSIM before flying (WhatsApp and Google need roaming), carry some cash for village stalls, book July–August weekends early, and tell us about dietary needs — halal-style and vegetarian farmhouse menus are arranged with three days' notice. Prices across the county are indicative and seasonal; every itinerary we send states exactly what is included.
