Yunshang Grassland tickets decoded: ¥220 entry + ¥140 cable car
Yunshang Grassland changed its ticket structure on 16 October 2026. Entry is now ¥220 for adults and ¥90 for children, and it is valid for three days with unlimited re-entry — a big deal for slow trips. The entry covers the three summit zones: the highland meadow, all 30-plus cliff rides, and Xianxia town, plus a standard seat at the new Jiuse Lu (Nine-Coloured Deer) theatre show and free entry to the Panda Tribe park at the mountain foot. The cable car is now sold separately: ¥140 round trip for adults, down from ¥200. All-in, a still costs about ¥360 per adult — the old joint-ticket total — but the parts are flexible.
That three-day rule is what should shape your plan. Our standard pattern: at the visitor centre by 08:30, cable car up, straight to the cliff park before 10:00 while the glass structures are still quiet, lunch on the meadow at 12:00, then the meadow, Tongxin Valley and the grass slide through the afternoon, and Xianxia town from 17:30 once the day groups start heading down. You are on the 19:30 cable car with the whole mountain behind you — and if you want more, the ticket still works tomorrow.
Two windows to avoid. 10:30–13:00 at the cable-car base, when tour groups arrive by the coachload; and the cliff park between 15:00 and 17:00 on weekends, when the swings and the sky bike run at capacity. If it rains, the cliff rides close first and the meadow stays open — reverse the order.
If you want the lantern town without the last-cable-car panic, sleep up there. Four hotels sit inside the resort: the 113-room 1168 Star Observatory on the summit, the 204-room Mountain Bamboo Retreat halfway up, the 102-room Squirrel Tribe for families, and the 261-room Cloud Mountain View beside the cable-car station. Guests of all four skip the morning queue entirely.
Winter changes the maths. From about December to March the 300,000 m² ski field opens — 3.8 km of runs, a 102 m vertical drop, two advanced pistes and chairlifts rather than drag lifts. Ski passes, rental and lessons are separate from the entry and cable-car tickets, and January weekends need booking a week out.
